Sandhole Oak Barn Farm sits in 400 acres of Cheshire countryside near Congleton. Designed specifically with weddings in mind, the venue was completed in 2005 and was probably the first Cheshire farm wedding venue. Family-owned by the Worth family since the 1920s.

A Bonfire Night wedding at Sandhole

The day began with preparations at Sandhole Oak Barn Farm — bridesmaids in red dresses, beautiful florals, and a buzz of pre-wedding excitement. Vicki’s emotional dress reveal to her dad was a touching moment, captured naturally as it happened.

Ceremony, laughter and a very funny best man

The ceremony was full of smiles and love — Tom’s best man set the tone for a day full of laughter. Plenty of natural reaction shots through the service.

Red smoke and umbrella couple portraits

Despite some November rain, we used umbrellas and lighting to make the couple portraits work — and then went all in with red smoke shots that ended up among the most distinctive images of the day. Sandhole’s famous lake gave us a stunning backdrop.

Videographer collaboration

Dave from Rich TV captured the video — he’s a brilliant videographer who pairs naturally with my photography approach.

Wedding breakfast, speeches and the evening

The wedding breakfast in the Oak Barn was beautiful and the speeches were warm. The Bonfire Night theme carried through into a memorable evening reception.
