I’d met Jo and Lee at Jo’s sister’s wedding a few years earlier — being recommended by a previous bride is always a privilege. After a pre-wedding shoot for the couple, I was eagerly looking forward to capturing their day at The Plough Inn at Eaton.
Bridal prep, pizza and family
On the wedding day we were fortunate to have a dry day despite some clouds. I joined Jo at The Plough Inn at Eaton for her bridal prep — makeup, hair, Jo’s sister Lisa helping her into her dress, and pizza. You can’t get any better than pizza to kick off a wedding.
Intimate ceremony in the converted barn
After the groom and his entourage made a fun arrival in their car for the day, we had a lovely, intimate ceremony with about 28 guests in the converted barn. The Plough Inn at Eaton’s barn serves as a civil ceremony room with a separate space for the wedding breakfast — and the stunning old pub frontage gives a properly distinctive feel.
The impromptu park photo session
One of my highlights of the year was the fun, impromptu photo session at a nearby park. Jo and Lee swung on swings, laughing and enjoying themselves like kids again, which resulted in some genuinely 100% natural and fun images. The aim is always to capture authentic moments, and we certainly hit that mark in the park.
Heartfelt speeches, dancing and night photography
After heartfelt speeches it was time for dancing, laughter and merriment. The celebration continued into the night with creative night shots and more dancing — capturing the essence of Jo and Lee’s extraordinary day.
