About Shrigley Hall Hotel — a Cheshire country house wedding venue near Macclesfield

Shrigley Hall Hotel is in Pott Shrigley near Macclesfield, Cheshire — one of the leading wedding venues in the North West. The original De Shrigley family passed it down by marriage to the Downes family (300+ years of ownership). In 1818 it was sold to William Turner (MP for Blackburn) who built the present hall in 1825. Famous in history for the Ellen Turner abduction case of 1826.
