Bridal prep at The Wizard’s Thatch

I started at The Wizard’s Thatch — a real thatched cottage with low ceilings (which kept me very alert at 6’4″). Lauren had her makeup done outside in the shade, beautiful dress, very unique wow bouquet. Met the bridesmaids — including a teacher from my youngest son’s school, who later delivered a brilliant, very funny “school report” style speech on Lauren.

St Joseph’s RC Church, Stockport

Off to St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stockport. Met the groom and his friends and young son in the pub (the perfect place on any hot day). The couple’s dog Luna played a full part — at the church and back at The Wizard Inn.

Alderley Edge portraits at The Edge

The Wizard Inn was privately booked. Best part for me as a photographer: hot day, breathtaking views at The Edge a short walk away. Picturesque, photogenic Cheshire views for the couple’s storybook.

Outdoor garden ceremony space and dancing under the sun

After very funny speeches and a nice meal, dancing moved outside. A rare event at an English wedding — the DJ set up in the garden and that’s where the night happened. Hot June weather all the way through.
