Bridal prep with the three children

I met Lisa and their three young children at the bride’s house — makeup in full flow, a busy happy household. Thankfully we were in the middle of the 2018 heatwave (I wish we had one every year).

Church ceremony and Mini arrival

Off to the church — a happy groom arrived with his best man and a Mini, then a few groom nerves at the top of the aisle.

The Roaches portraits

After the ceremony we headed up to The Roaches — a series of dramatic rocks in the hills between Leek and Buxton. We arrived to breathtaking views of Staffordshire and beyond. In 22 years as a professional wedding photographer, this is one of the most photogenic spots I’ve ever captured. Lisa had a beautiful dress and the views did the rest.

Back down to The Three Horseshoes Country Inn just outside Leek — more views, the group images the couple wanted, the wedding breakfast, a magician, very funny speeches and lots of dancing. Some lovely twilight shots with the hills in the background as we lost the light.
