Hollin Hall Hotel
Hollin House Hotel is a charming Tudor Gothic-style building, originally constructed in 1870. With 59 well-appointed bedrooms, a conservatory-style room for weddings, and an impressive staircase that greets guests as they walk through the front door, the hotel offers a cozy, luxurious, and unassuming atmosphere that perfectly complemented Catherine and Josh’s wedding day.

We saw Rick and examples of his work at a wedding fair in 2021 and were impressed. We attended his studio to see more of his wedding photography and booked him up for our wedding which was on 6th August. Rick offers a pre wedding photo shoot with all his packages. We were a bit nervous at first as we hadn’t had professional photos taken of us before. However, after the shoot we felt comfortable and at ease. On our wedding day Rick arrived at around 09:30 and stayed until after our first dance. He was brilliant throughout and even calmed me down when I was stressed in the morning! We have just received our USB stick containing our wedding photos and we are so pleased with the quality. Highly recommend. Catherine Bramley .
The Day
Upon arrival at Hollin House Hotel, I was greeted by the picturesque Cheshire hills and sheep that surrounded the venue, setting the tone for a magical day ahead.
The morning began with Catherine’s bridal preparations, where hair and makeup artists worked their magic, and the room buzzed with laughter and excitement. Meanwhile, Josh had his best man and nephew by his side, eagerly anticipating the moment they would say their vows.
One of the most emotional moments of the day came when Catherine’s father saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. His reaction, filled with overwhelming emotion, was truly unforgettable. As a wedding photographer, I have witnessed countless tender moments like this, and Catherine and her father’s exchange ranked among the most memorable.
With everyone dressed and ready, Catherine and her father descended the hotel’s photogenic staircase, leading to a lovely ceremony officiated by East Cheshire registrars. The couple exchanged their vows, surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends. The ceremony concluded with a shower of confetti, symbolizing the joy and happiness that filled the air.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests stepped out into the August sun for photos, mingling, and a chance to enjoy the beautiful Cheshire countryside. The hotel’s grounds offered a myriad of picturesque backdrops for photos, including the idyllic gardens and a charming bridge.
As the guests enjoyed canapés and drinks, Catherine and Josh made sure to spend plenty of time with their loved ones before the wedding breakfast and speeches. Their genuine love and happiness radiated throughout the day, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone present.
The speeches were filled with laughter, as stories and memories were shared, providing plenty of spontaneous, natural moments to capture. The room resonated with joy, as family and friends came together to celebrate Catherine and Josh’s love and commitment.
Following the speeches, an emotional cake cutting ceremony took place, marking the beginning of the evening’s festivities. As the music began to play, Catherine and Josh shared their first dance as husband and wife. Soon after, guests joined them on the dance floor, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere that continued late into the night.
