From the wedding fair to the studio meeting
Catherine and Josh first saw my work at a wedding fair in 2021 and came to the studio to see more before booking. The pre-wedding shoot that’s included in every package helped them feel comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day.
The Cheshire hills welcome
Arriving at Hollin House Hotel I was greeted by the picturesque Cheshire hills and the sheep-filled fields that surround the venue — a beautifully calm setting for a wedding day.
Bridal prep and Josh with his best man and nephew
The morning began with Catherine’s bridal prep — hair and makeup in full flow and the room buzzing with laughter and excitement. Meanwhile Josh had his best man and nephew by his side.
The emotional father-of-the-bride moment
One of the most emotional moments of the day was Catherine’s dad seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time. His overwhelmed reaction was one of the most memorable I’ve witnessed across nearly over 25 years of wedding photography.

With everyone dressed and ready, Catherine and her father descended the hotel’s photogenic staircase — one of Hollin House’s signature backdrops.
Ceremony, couple portraits and the evening
The ceremony was warm; afterwards we worked the gardens and the surrounding Cheshire countryside for couple portraits, with the Peak District backdrop giving us huge variety. The wedding breakfast, speeches and evening reception ran beautifully.
