Becky and James’ memorable wedding day at The Deanwater Hotel was an absolute pleasure to capture, and I was overjoyed that they finally got to celebrate their special day with their four children. This lovely family wedding day was full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.
The Deanwater Hotel has been a highly recommended venue for over 20 years, and I am fortunate to have worked with them for so long. This photogenic location features two distinct wedding suites, friendly and accommodating staff, and beautiful scenery for wedding photos, including gardens, woods, and a bridge over the River Dean.
Becky and James’ wedding day took place in the Balmoral Suite, the larger of the two suites, which can accommodate over 100 people. The suite has its own private bar and large gardens leading to a bridge and woods. The Deanwater Hotel also offers a Gold Suite for smaller weddings, situated within a Grade 2 listed building with a rich history.
Nestled in Woodford, Stockport, on the border of Wilmslow and Cheshire, The Deanwater Hotel is set in 5 acres of picturesque gardens. This privately-owned hotel has been managed and run by the same dedicated family for over 50 years and offers 41 en-suite bedrooms for guests.

Wedding Day Photographer
We finally met up again in April for our pre-shoot and although this was out of mine and my partners comfort zone, Rick made us feel at ease and comfortable and we loved all the photos. We had our meeting in June before the wedding to discuss what we wanted and we seen our photos last night. Wow!!! We couldn’t have asked for more and can’t thank Rick enough he captured everything and so much more. I cannot recommend Rick enough.
The Day
Becky and James’ wedding day had been rescheduled several times due to Covid lockdown restrictions, but when the day finally arrived in July, it was a glorious, hot, and sunny day with temperatures reaching 30 degrees. The excitement in the air was palpable as Becky prepared with a record 10 bridesmaids and 3 flower girls in a large suite at The Deanwater Hotel.
There were emotional moments throughout the day, such as when bridesmaids and Becky’s dad first saw her in her stunning dress and long veil. The ceremony, conducted by Stockport registrars, was lovely and full of smiles and laughter.
I made full use of The Deanwater Hotel’s photogenic grounds for photos, capturing the bridal party and allowing Becky and James to mingle with their guests before the wedding breakfast. The day was filled with natural moments, including children playing hide and seek and a talented young boy playing the piano.
The reception featured hilarious speeches that had everyone laughing, followed by Becky and James’ first dance and an evening of celebration with their guests.
I am sincerely grateful to have been a part of Becky and James’ special wedding day at The Deanwater Hotel. After several delays, it was a pleasure to help them capture the love, joy, and unforgettable memories they shared with their family and friends.
