Photographing weddings at Combermere Abbey
When I’m working at a venue like Combermere Abbey, I look first at the light — where the windows face, where the sun will sit during ceremony and portraits — and second at the spaces that lend themselves to natural moments. Documentary wedding photography is about being in the right place at the right second, and that varies venue by venue.
What I notice when I shoot here
Your celebrations can begin the night before your wedding at this luxurious venue, in a private and sumptuous gothic cottage on the edge of the Estate called Stone Lodge. Here you and your wedding party can be pampered and prepare for the big day without any distractions other than a complimentary glass of bubbly and the sound of birdsong.
Overlooked by beautiful specimen trees, you make your way through our magical Fruit Tree Maze to the elegant fan-shaped Glasshouse to exchange your vows surrounded and supported by your loved ones. Your special day continues in our fabulous Pavilion overlooking the beautiful and spacious garden, where along with your family and friends, you can celebrate your joy, dining and dancing the night away.
This is one of the most recent wedding venues I’ve worked at and I’m hoping I’ll get the opportunity to work here again in the not so distant future.
