Capesthorne Hall

Karen and Ageo’s Wedding day was an Epic ! An Amazing venue , an Amazing couple and what a day just packed with so much going on All Day from my covergage at 9.30 am to gone 10 pm , WOW!

From the grooms arrival in a Aston Martin to Sparklers at Capesthorne Hall which is a venue full with beautful history , paintings , photogenic spots, a lake or two and a bridge .

Capesthorne Hall a brief history

Capesthorne Hall is located near the village of Siddington, Cheshire, England and not far from Macclesfield and Alderley Edge . The house and its private chapel were built in the early 18th century, replacing an earlier hall and chapel nearby. They were built to Neoclassical designs by William Smith and (probably) his son Francis. Later in the 18th century, the house was extended by the addition of an orangery and a drawing room. In the 1830s the house was remodelled by Edward Blore; the work included the addition of an extension and a frontage in Jacobean style, and joining the central block to the service wings. In about 1837 the orangery was replaced by a large conservatory designed by Joseph Paxton. In 1861 the main part of the house was virtually destroyed by fire. It was rebuilt by Anthony Salvin, who generally followed Blore’s designs but made modifications to the front, rebuilt the back of the house in Jacobean style, and altered the interior. There were further alterations later in the 19th century, including remodelling of the Saloon. During the Second World War the hall was used by the Red Cross, but subsequent deterioration prompted a restoration.

The hall is a Grade II* listed building. It has a long entrance front consisting of a three-storey central block with lateral wings, each of which has two four-storey turrets. Outside this on each side are two-storey service blocks that project forward, forming a three-sided entrance forecourt. The ground-floor public rooms include a drawing room, a dining room, and a sculpture gallery. The bedrooms, dressing rooms and another gallery are on the first floor. The hall stands in grounds containing gardens and parkland that includes a lake. A particularly notable listed structure in the grounds is the Grade II* listed private chapel, also designed by William Smith, that is contemporaneous with the hall, together with its elaborate Grade II listed gates and gate piers. The bridge over the lake, is also listed. The earthworks of the previous hall and chapel and a deserted medieval village in the grounds are together designated as a scheduled ancient monument.

Today the hall, chapel and grounds are privately owned by the Bromley-Davenport family. They are open for purposes such as weddings and corporate events.

After the above great history I can say this is one of the most photogenic and beautiful venues for wedding photography.

The gardens are amazing with a pagoda and walks along a lake and a bridge which create stunning photos .

I can also say Capesthorne hall has friendly and professional staff , everywhere I turned there are great opportunitys for photos .

Great interiors for a rainy day too.

The Epic Day

I started my brides prep. coverage at Capesthorne Hall on a cloudy and cool day , which thankfully improved and became sunny and warm as the day went on .

Having met Ageo and Karen at their pre shoot I was really looking forward to their wedding day .

With make up and hair going on in a must say a very calm way , Karen had her close family and bridesmaids with her

I then went out into the courtyard to see Ageo’s best man called Bannana yes Bannana and fitting he was also a City fan .

I then saw the grand enteranace by Ageo in a Black Aston Martin . WOW I would like one of those !

And also 6 groomsmen were present , I have to say a great bunch of lads with plenty of humour and laughs all day , they were a tight team .

Many had come from Wales for Ageo and Karen’s wedding day and they certainly added to the fun atmosphere of the day .

We then had the ceremony and the unique enterance of the bride and dad.

As before Karen [ in her beautiful red asian dress with some remarkable jewllery ] and her Dad walked down the aisle the bridesmaids did but also 2 male bridesmen throwing petals to the floor it what I would describe as

a very humourous style and it certainly put a smile on the faces of the guests in attendance .

After very personally giving their own personal vows to each other and another excellant ceremony by Your ceremony

It was time for confetti and lots and lots of confetti at that . Karen and Ageo took all day to get rid of this amouint of confetti !

We then captured images as they walked around some amazing gardens with backdrops of flowers , a bridge and even a family of swans !

After the photos they wanted and i might add some great drone footage , Karen and Ageo had pleanty of time to talk to guests take in a drink or 3

and some guests played croquet and connect 4 in the gardens .

There was the wedding breakfast and then some funny and personal speeches including one from the bride of the day Karen .

Then Karen changed dresses to a white Maria Modes beautiful wedding dress .

After cake cutting it was time for dancing .

And I witnessed and recorded some of the most energetic and fun dancing I have seen in my

20 years plus of experience of wedding photography.

This was then followed by a series of lifting the groom in the air then the bride and then both . Well why not !

Then sparklers and more dancing before my covergage at well past 10 pm finished .

It was a pleasure to help such fantastic people and thank you for allowing me to help you Karen and Ageo on your Eic Wedding Day.

Rick.
