About The Manor House as a wedding venue
The Manor House is a country-house wedding venue in Cheshire. Like many of Cheshire’s historic halls, it combines period architecture with grounds and gardens that work well for outdoor photography across the seasons. The hall is licensed for civil ceremonies and runs weddings throughout the year.
Photographing weddings at The Manor House
Country-house venues like The Manor House give a wedding photographer the contrast that makes images sing — high-ceilinged interiors with large windows for natural light during the day, and gardens or parkland for portraits and group shots when the weather plays along. I work documentary-style, blending into the background so guests forget the camera, and the staff at venues like this are typically well practised at running a day smoothly. If the weather turns, there’s almost always somewhere indoors that’s equally photogenic.
What I notice when I shoot here
The stunning country house is one of the most popular celebration settings and wedding venues in Cheshire.
Within The Manor House there are three fabulous locations where they can stage wedding ceremonies as well as a choice of wonderfully ornate rooms and outdoor settings where you can entertain your guests.
The early Georgian inspired Dining Room creates a stunning setting with its beautiful walnut paneling and incredible plaster work. The dining room creates the perfect setting for an intimate wedding and in the summer months the doors are opened to reveal one of the spectacular lime tree avenues, making it a very sort after wedding venue in Cheshire.
The stunning Music Room is a wonderful entertainment room, accompanied by its spectacular wall paneling, carvings, elaborate plaster work and period paintings by Giovanni Cipriani, will take your breath away. With room for up to 200 guests the music room is a fantastic location for larger celebrations.
