Barn weddings have grown enormously in popularity over the last decade because they pair rustic character — timber frames, exposed brick, big open ceremony spaces — with the flexibility of outdoor options and the natural light that comes with rural settings.

Photographing weddings at Heaton House Farm

Barn venues like Heaton House Farm are some of my favourites for natural-light wedding photography. The light through the timber frames and the surrounding fields gives a softer, warmer feel than you get inside a hotel function room. I look for the moments between the formal parts of the day — the quiet preparation, the family arrivals, the first look between the couple — and the outdoor options tend to be the highlight of the portraits. I plan around the light direction so the ceremony and the group photos both get the right exposure.

If you want a country wedding venue in Cheshire then this is certainly the right one for you. The Heaton House Farm is set on the outskirts of Cheshire in Rushton Spencer and it is a great place for you to have your wedding. Owned by the Heath family ,it doesn’t matter whether you are having a civil ceremony or whether you are having a traditional wedding because they have something for everyone and you would be surprised at how much they could do for you. The venue is run by a family and this adds to the appeal of the venue in general. The unique barn has so much to offer and I for one have seen this first hand.

With bespoke options and a team who would be happy to help you with just about anything you need, they are well worth talking to. I have worked with Heaton House Farm on many occasions now and they have the perfect setting if you want to take some great photos. The luxury interior rooms are not to be missed and it can give you an experience unlike any other. Heaton house is a superb venue for wedding photography. You can have an outdoor or indoor ceremony .
