Bashal Barn is a barn/farm wedding venue in Lancashire. Barn weddings have grown enormously in popularity over the last decade because they pair rustic character — timber frames, exposed brick, big open ceremony spaces — with the flexibility of outdoor options and the natural light that comes with rural settings.
Photographing weddings at Bashal Barn
Barn venues like Bashal Barn are some of my favourites for natural-light wedding photography. The light through the timber frames and the surrounding fields gives a softer, warmer feel than you get inside a hotel function room. I look for the moments between the formal parts of the day — the quiet preparation, the family arrivals, the first look between the couple — and the outdoor options tend to be the highlight of the portraits. I plan around the light direction so the ceremony and the group photos both get the right exposure.
What I notice when I shoot here
Bashal Barn near Clitheroe in Lancashire is a brilliant very rural venue and can hold civil ceremonies and receptions can cater for 50 to 130-day guests and up to 200 in the evening.
The staff are warm and friendly and it has stunning backdrops for wedding pictures.
If you want a venue away from towns and villages this is perfect and a working farm with cows .
