Pre-wedding shoot booked early so we knew the day would flow. Bridal prep at Mottram Hall — many smiles, holiday-rep bridesmaids whose humour shone through all day.

Norcliffe Chapel in Styal — and Penny the vicar

Norcliffe Chapel in Styal is one of the most photogenic churches in Cheshire — rural surroundings, beautiful architecture. Standing in for the regular vicar Alex was Penny — who I first met in my rookie year, 1996.

Before the groomsmen walked down to the church there was the obligatory stop at the Ship Inn pub for a pre-ceremony pint. The lovely ceremony was followed by a confetti shot at one of the most famous lichgates in Cheshire.
