Three date changes and finally the wedding day

Michelle and Mat had three wedding date changes due to lockdowns and rule changes during Covid. When the day finally came, the sun came out and two great venues — St Catherine’s and The Pinewood — looked after them and their family. A proper post-Covid family wedding day.

Bridal prep was at Michelle’s parents’ house — calm and excited atmosphere with hair, makeup and the bridesmaids in full flow.

Over to The Pinewood on Wilmslow — just two miles from my house, with a lovely back garden for wedding photography. I’ve photographed many weddings here, which means I know the photo spots and the light well.

The wedding breakfast and speeches were warm and the evening reception turned into a brilliant family celebration.

“Planning a wedding at any time can often be a stressful process but then, throw COVID into the mix and that stress is amplified. We had three wedding date changes due to lockdowns, rule changes etc. But fortunately for us our photographer Rick Dell didn’t add to the stress — he went out of his way to be accommodating with the date changes and was adept at communicating with us throughout. Right from the moment we met him we were put immediately at ease. He discussed the types of shots we would like and advised us with what shots would work well as he had an extensive knowledge of our venue. When the day arrived Rick fitted seamlessly into the day, not only making sure we had the pictures we requested but he also took a myriad of natural and candid images.
