The Plough Inn at Eaton is a 400-year-old wedding venue near Congleton and Macclesfield in Cheshire. The wedding suite is largely built in timber with a stunning old pub frontage — a properly distinctive backdrop for wedding photography.

Lisa and Allistair’s wedding day at The Plough Inn at Eaton

Two weddings — small in April, then the big celebration

Lisa and Allistair had a small wedding in April 2021 due to Covid laws — I attended that day too. Then in August, with restrictions lifted, they wanted a fun and happy day with all their friends and family at All Saints Church and The Plough Inn at Eaton.

Bridal prep at Lisa’s parents with Me Time Hair Salon

I turned up for bridal prep at Lisa’s parents’ home with lots of smiles and cheer. Hair and makeup were done by Lisa and her mum’s own team from their salon in Gatley — Me Time Hair Salon. Having your own salon team for the wedding day is a real perk.

Ceremony at All Saints Church

After bridal prep it was off to All Saints Church to find Allistair and the boys. The ceremony was warm and full of family.

After the ceremony it was time for fun at The Plough Inn at Eaton — confetti, smoke grenades and games in the garden. The famous old red phone box outside The Plough Inn has a brilliant story: it’s the phone box that the groom’s dad received a call on the day of Allistair’s birth. On Allistair and Lisa’s wedding day, he was back there again.

Magician, Jenga, tug of war and games

The Plough Inn had a magician, Jenga, tug of war and laughs all around. Hilarious and emotional speeches — every speech landed warmly.

Mr and Mrs with shoes — and the men lost

Then what looked like a very funny game of Mr and Mrs, but with shoes — followed by a game of “find the items”, from shoes to bras. A competitive game men v women — and sadly I can report the ladies won very easily.
