Sandhole Oak Barn Farm sits in 400 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside near Congleton. Designed specifically with weddings in mind, the venue was completed in 2005 and was probably the first Cheshire farm wedding venue. It’s family-owned by the Worth family — Sandhole has been part of their lives since the 1920s.

Pre-wedding shoot and planning
Keri and Adam came in for a pre-wedding shoot and a pre-meeting. By the wedding day they were comfortable in front of the camera and we knew the shot list inside out.
Bridal prep with Danielle Horan
I arrived on a sunny day with some cloud — perfect light for bridal prep. Makeup was by Danielle Horan with her young daughter alongside; Danielle and I have worked together on a number of weddings.
An emotional, autumn-orange ceremony
The autumn orange colour theme was a brilliant choice — bridesmaids, ties, florals all coordinated. The ceremony was emotional in the best way — tears of joy through the day. With Keri and Adam’s daughter and families involved throughout, this was a properly family-led celebration.
Outdoor portraits, the lake and the Cheshire sunset
After the ceremony we worked the grounds — the Oak Barn, the Clock Tower, the lake — and we got lucky with one of those Sandhole sunsets that makes the photography here so distinctive.
Wedding breakfast, speeches and the evening
The wedding breakfast in the Oak Barn was beautiful; the speeches were warm and the evening reception ran late.
