Kasey And Alex’s Superb Mere Court Hotel Wedding Day
Kasey and Alex’s superb wedding at Mere Court Hotel in Knutsford was a brilliant Cheshire wedding day with a couple I genuinely enjoyed getting to know. As the recommended Mere Court Hotel wedding photographer for over 15 years, this venue is one of the most familiar to me anywhere — and that long relationship pays off in the images and in the calm running of the day.

About Mere Court Hotel — a four-star country house wedding venue in Knutsford, Cheshire
Mere Court Hotel sits just outside Knutsford in the heart of Cheshire, a four-star country house hotel and AA Rosette restaurant in seven acres of grounds. Originally built in 1903 as a wedding present for William Dunkerley and Amy Costance, the Dunkerleys lived there until 1955. North West Gas owned it next, the Hampson family converted it to a hotel in 1998, and the Chawla family added the Conservatory in 2003.
I’ve been a recommended wedding photographer at Mere Court for over 15 years — and that long relationship matters. I know the venue, the team, the light through every room and where to be at each moment of the day.
- Four ceremony options: The Arboretum, The Dunkerley Suite, The Conservatory (up to 150 guests) and outdoors at the pagoda
- Grade II listed building set in seven acres with a lake
- 40 individually designed bedrooms plus The Lodge (a two-bedroom house)
- AA Rosette restaurant for the wedding breakfast
- Past guests include Bill Clinton, Ruby Wax, Dawn French and Spandau Ballet; venue featured in Cold Feet

Pre-wedding shoot and planning
Kasey and Alex came in for a pre-wedding shoot and a pre-meeting before the big day — both important parts of the process for me. Natural images and creative posing combine best when the couple are already comfortable in front of the camera.
Bridal prep at Mere Court
From the dress laid out beautifully through the morning prep, I worked through the details and atmosphere — laughter from the bridesmaids, quiet moments with family, the rings, the bouquet.
Ceremony and outdoor portraits
The ceremony was lovely; afterwards we worked the seven-acre grounds — the lake, the lawns, the trees — taking our time. I’m in no rush to leave once I’m at a wedding — I stay through the first four or five dances in the evening as standard.
Wedding breakfast, speeches and the evening
The wedding breakfast in the Conservatory was elegant; the speeches were full of laughter. The night photography and evening reception completed a properly memorable Mere Court wedding day.
“We recently had the pleasure of working with Rick, and we couldn’t be happier. From the initial consultation to the final delivery of the photos. Rick demonstrated exceptional professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail. The quality of the photographs exceeded our expectations, capturing every important moment beautifully and authentically. Rick has a remarkable ability to put everyone at ease, ensuring natural and candid shots that truly reflect the essence of the occasion… The turnaround time for the edited photos was impressively quick.”
