Devon And Jonny’s Beautiful Family Wedding Day At Heaton House Farm
Devon and Jonny’s family wedding at Heaton House Farm was a beautifully busy celebration packed with their three sons, their daughter and a striking red colour theme. As a regular Heaton House Farm wedding photographer, I love documenting weddings here — and Devon and Jonny’s day was full of natural smiles from morning to evening.

About Heaton House Farm — an exclusive-use Cheshire wedding venue near Macclesfield
Heaton House Farm has been owned by the Heath family — Mick, Margaret and their daughter Sarah — for seven generations. The first wedding here was in 1999 and 25 years on it remains family-owned, with a friendly team that genuinely make the day flow.
The farm sits on the Cheshire / Staffordshire border in Rushton Spencer, surrounded by photogenic hills with views across three counties. Manchester is the nearest city and Macclesfield the nearest town — making Heaton House Farm a strong choice if you want a Cheshire wedding venue with a rural feel.
- Purpose-built bridal prep (The Hen House) and ceremony room
- Outdoor ceremonies available in summer
- Separate wedding breakfast and evening reception rooms
- On-site accommodation for the wedding party
- Exclusive-use venue — only one wedding per day
- Extensive gardens and countryside views, ideal for wedding photography
Devon and Jonny’s wedding day at Heaton House Farm
Bridal preparations and the red colour theme
Devon’s bridal prep was lit up with red — bridesmaids in red, the flower girl in red, Devon’s mum in a red dress and the lads in red ties. The makeup and hair team from Makeup Mobile to You Studio worked beautifully (I’ve photographed weddings with them before — always a pleasure). Devon and Jonny brought their three sons and one daughter into the wedding party as page boys and a flower girl, which set the tone for an unmistakably family-first day.
A family-led ceremony
The ceremony was warm and full of smiles. Having the kids involved created lots of authentic, in-the-moment images — exactly the kind of natural documentary photography that works so well at Heaton House Farm. The ceremony room with the morning light and the family processional made for some of the day’s strongest moments.
Confetti, gardens and group photos
After the ceremony we did the confetti train, then headed into the gardens and across the farm for couple and family group shots. The wedding coordinator at Heaton House Farm helped keep the timeline smooth so we could get a proper variety of portraits without rushing.
Wedding breakfast and the evening
The wedding breakfast was relaxed, the speeches were heartfelt and the evening reception turned into a brilliant family party. With the kids on the dance floor right alongside the adults, the energy was infectious. Night photography at Heaton House Farm with the venue lit up is always a highlight.
“We would highly recommend Rick for your wedding photographs. He was absolutely amazing from booking with him to receiving our photographs. He offered a free pre-wedding photo shoot and a pre-wedding consultation… We now have the most amazing wedding photos and memories to look back on. Very efficient, passionate about what he does, great communication and a quick turn around for our pictures.”
