Built in 1721, this Georgian country house has been a hotel since 1940 — the Mottram estate itself dates back to 1310 when Adam de Mottram established it, passing to the Booth family in 1650 and the Wright family in 1738.

A mild, dry November wedding day
Charlotte and Craig’s wedding was in November but we got lucky with the weather — dry and mild, which made a real difference for the outdoor photography across the Mottram estate.
Bridal prep in the dedicated suite
I started the day with Charlotte’s bridal prep in the dedicated prep room at Mottram Hall — calm atmosphere, hair and makeup in full flow, and plenty of detail shots in the morning light.
Ceremony in the St Andrew Suite
The recently refurbished St Andrew Suite is a beautiful space for a ceremony — the natural light works beautifully and the room sets up elegantly. As with most weddings at Mottram, the timing flowed smoothly with the hotel’s experienced wedding team.
Couple portraits across the 270-acre estate
After the ceremony we worked the grounds — the front of the hall, the parkland, the gardens. With 270 acres of Cheshire parkland to draw on, I never run out of backgrounds at Mottram Hall.
Wedding breakfast, speeches and the evening
The wedding breakfast was warm and the speeches were funny. Evening photos around the hall, the night portraits and the first dance wrapped up a brilliant Mottram Hall wedding day.
